Job Summary

RBCCM's West Coast Municipal Finance Group is seeking an experienced municipal finance investment banking associate eager to join an established market. The Associate provides analytical, research, and transactional support related to the structuring and issuance of municipal bonds through negotiated, competitive sale, or private placement. Associates are involved in all aspects of our business and play critical roles on banking teams serving diverse clients.

The position can be based in Los Angeles or San Francisco.

What will you do?

• Perform research, analytics, and financial modeling for transactions
• Produce financial analyses to structure bond offerings
• Take increasing roles on client teams and in presentations
• Prepare projections, portfolio analyses, and related financial analyses for capital markets transactions
• Gather and analyze information for proposals, presentations, and marketing materials
• Prepare proposals and participate in client presentations, describing financing options and underwriting capabilities

What do you need to succeed?

• BA/BS in Business, Finance, or Economics with high achievement
• 3-5 years of municipal finance experience
• Proficiency with computers and productivity applications
• Securities licenses (SIE, Series 52 & 63) and obtain Series 50
• Proficiency with bond structuring software
• Strong analytical skills and finance knowledge
• Motivated, responsible, and able to manage priorities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Maintain high professional and ethical standards

The salary range is $105,000 - $180,000, with potential for additional earnings through discretionary bonuses based on performance and individual goals. RBC values high performance, strategic achievement, and shareholder value.
